Anonymous: what school did you go to? why don't you think its a 'real college'?
i went to santa monica community college
besides being incredibly overcrowded, i did not feel much connection between myself, my professors, and ESPECIALLY my peers. it seemed as if most of the students in attendence were miserable, as if they were forced to print in the darkroom, forced in the studio, or really forced to advance in their major. i doubted the fact that any of the student body really shot outside of class assignments, while on the contrary i was really shooting anything but those. i felt lost, a bit disconnected, and essentially stuck in community college.
it was not my thing, and i wish i could flash back to senior year and change my actions and actually go forward with the college application / portfolio process.
stumbled upon a boy-band show last night; engulfed in a sea of teenage girls, angsty mothers, and miserable fathers. it was a strange experience that i have zero interest in ever reliving.
